I'm not one of those coaster fanatics that wants to ride every single coaster on the planet. I have a wife, a career, and I would like to have kids someday. Not to mention traveling around the world or even all over the U.S. would be pretty darn expensive. I'm also not really into how many coasters I've ridden. I know some enthusiasts will shamefully ride kiddie coasters just to get their coaster count up. I fall on the other end of the spectrum and often skip clones of coasters that I've already ridden. Vekoma Boomerangs, Vekoma Suspended Looping Coasters, and Wild Mouse coasters are all fair game for me to skip when I visit a new park. Even though I like these coasters I'm more concerned with new experiences than saying I've ridden this many coasters.
Now that I've laid all that out, I did some number crunching the other night and realized that the first coaster I ride at Cedar Point will be my 100th new coaster since I've started visiting parks. It's a great park for a milestone with three contenders for number 100. In my next post I'll run down those three world-class coasters.
