Girls Feet Cut Off @ Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom

Girls Feet Severed on Thrill Ride at Louisville Six Flags
Needless to say, this season hasn't been without its share of amusement park accidents. This most recent incident is by far the most gruesome. On Thursday, a 13-year old girl had her feet severed while riding Superman Power of Tower at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville.

The Power of Tower is a drop ride that stands 177 feet tall with a 157 foot free fall that reaches speeds of 54 miles per hour. (Pictured right) The ride was formerly known as Hellevator. Allegedly, during the drop a cable severed the girl's legs at the ankles.

“When I got up there, the lady was just sitting there and she didn’t have no legs,” Smith said. “She didn’t have no legs at all. She was just calm, probably in shock from everything.”

six flag owners should be ashamed of themselves. this poor girl is mutilated and the park stays open. I guess they could not afford to show some respect. our best to the victem and her family, we will pray for you!

I agree, they should have shut down out of respect, but that's a theme park for you. I had a relative killed as a worker at a theme park and they didn't even shut it down for him. Thoughts and prayers go out to the girl's family. There are others out here who share in your pain.

I don't think they should shut down. What would that accomplish unless it was a safety issue? It is however a very sad day. The important thing now is that the girl gets top notch medical care and attention which I do believe is Six Flags responsibility.

I agree. Shutting down the entire park wouldn't help. I really don't see Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom staying open as disrespectful. It's not like they continued running the Hellevator/Tower of Power.

Like Tanning Lotion said, the most important thing was getting the girl some much needed medical attention.

Why ruin the day for everybody else who paid good money and had invested their time to visit the park. If that is the rational, maybe when there is an airplane crash, they should suspend flights at the airport. It does not show lack of respect, I think the show goes on.

I took the girl's feet and made a mean beef stew out of it. Would you like to try some?

They should shut down the park because the girl lost her feet. & ya they did shut down the superman ride but it could happen again on another ride because they were careless!someone could be killed because of them. They should shut down the park for respect, too. THE GIRL LOST HER FEET! Honey, I'm praying for you!

okay, so shutting down the park isnt going to solve anything, yeah it was horrible about her feet, but come on, i dont understand how that is distrespectful in any way..but i do agree they should have closed the park for the rest of the day. because im sure that shook up some poeple, i mean if i was there and saw that..i would never want to go on a ride ever again, dont you agree?
