New Roller Coaster at Dollywood Will Be First of Its Kind in the States
Friday the 13th , this April, a one-of-kind steel coaster will open at Dollywood in the mountains of East Tennessee. Mystery Mine will be the first Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter in the States and it will be a custom installation. Euro-Fighters feature separate cars that seat two rows of four passengers instead of the traditional trains. They appear to have pretty compact layouts and usually offer a few inversions. Perhaps the most noteworthy feature would be the beyond 90-degree drop that they offer. Speed at Oakwood Theme Park in the UK features a 97-degree drop! (Seen here.) Mystery Mine will offer a similar (95-degree) drop and more importantly some cool, creepy theming. Check out the official site for ride animations and more information.

Hey there,
Just wanted to let you know that I just rode this coaster this weekend and you should totally check it out! It was a great coaster, one of the top 3 I have ever been on (number one being the Millennium Force and number two being the Top Thrill Dragster both at Cedar Point). The only complaint I have about this coaster is that it was way tooooooo short of a ride!!!
Catie
Hopefully I'll be checking Mystery Mine out in the next year or so now that I'm only 3 hours or so from Dollywood.
Thanks for stopping by.
